AIS sites
aprs.ru receives AIS (ship) data from users' receivers and shows the vessels on the map with the i/ class, next to APRS stations.
How to connect a receiver
- Register and get an “AIS password” on the My account page.
- Make your receiving software (rtl_ais, AIS-catcher, aisdispatcher) output !AIVDM NMEA lines over TCP.
- Send them to aprs.ru:2102; the first line is the login: user <login> pass <AIS password> vers <software> <version>. For example: (echo "user UN7ABC pass 0123abcd vers nc 1"; nc 127.0.0.1 10110) | nc aprs.ru 2102.
Limits: up to 5 connections per user and 50 messages per second per connection. Vessels silent for 7 days are removed, their tracks are kept for 2 years like APRS stations.
